Deep Tissue Massage
Used primarily to “unstick” the body’s connective
tissues and/or muscles and encourage optimum functioning, deep
tissue massage is performed by moving gradually deeper as the body
opens up. It is commonly used in injury rehabilitation such as
whiplash, low back and neck pain.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage (MLD)
A specific light touch therapy, Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage
or MLD is a gentle, rhythmic stimulation of the lymph vessels that
can increase lymph flow up to 20 times its normal rate of flow.
This increased flow greatly promotes regeneration of tissues, making
it an ideal form of therapy following most surgeries (with doctor
permission); it also decreases swelling and bruising, relieves
headaches, and addresses sinus and allergy issues. In addition,
MLD can provide results similar to a mini facelift by decreasing
puffiness and dark circles, diminishing wrinkles and releasing
tension that is frequently held around the eyes, forehead and jaw.

Myofascial Release (MFR)
Myofascial Release or MFR seeks to free the body from the grip
of tight fascia or connective tissue, as well as restore normal
alignment and function and reduce pain. Applying mild to moderate
sustained pressure to gently stretch and soften the fascia, MFR
is used to treat neck and back pain, repetitive stress syndrome
(RSS), tendonitis, headaches and many other conditions.
Raindrop Technique (RT)
During this technique, Young Living therapeutic grade oils are
dispensed like drops of rain approximately six inches above the
spine, then feathered along the vertebrae and back muscles. They
are also applied to the vita flex points on the feet. Easily absorbed
into the skin, these oils are woven into a massage session to assist
with relaxation and/or detoxification.
Shiatsu/Acupressure
Literally translated as “finger pressure,” Shiatsu
is the most widely known form of acupressure. It also combines
rhythmic stretching along energy channels to stimulate chi or vital
energy.
Swedish Massage
The most common form of massage in Western countries, Swedish massage
consists of rubbing, kneading, brushing, cupping, friction and
tapping the muscles. Swedish massage is mostly used for general
relaxation and tension release. |
